What is the difference between microblading, ombre and blade & shade?

  • Microblading is when brows are created by using a manual tool with a blade to create hair stokes. The results will look like fuller brows. Microblading is recommended for those clients with normal to dry skin. Oily skin may cause extreme pigment loss or even pigment migration.

  • Ombre is when the artist uses either a manual shading tool or a machine to shade your brow shape. The end results will look like you have eyebrow powder on your brows at all times. This technique is highly recommended for clients with oily skin.

  • Blade & shade is a combination of both microblading or nano strokes with shading of the brows to add fluff and fullness.

Is this permanent or why is it called semi-permanent?

I would have to say it is permanent. This is a tattoo. The only difference is that, these services are supposed to heal gracefully so that it's not like the old permanent make-up where it is super saturated and does not fade nicely. A poorly trained technician can also cause permanent scarring when microblading so please be careful.

Does it hurt?

I have a lot of clients ask this question. It's scary because it is on your face. Rest assure that it's not as bad it it sounds. I normally no not numb until the outline is complete. From then on, you should either feel minimal pain or no pain at all.

How long will it last?

This is a very hard question to answer because everyone's skin is different. We all have different lifestyles and skin care regimens. I will have to say that you should get a color touch-up between 1-2 years.

Permanent make-up is not recommended but not limited for the following:

  • Pregnant or nursing.

  • Used Accutane in the past year.

  • Undergoing chemotherapy (consult your doctor)

  • Epilepsy

  • Had an organ transplant

  • Had botox in less than 2 weeks

  • Prone to keloids

  • Has rosacea

  • Takes aspirin or naproxen daily
